I decided to begin blogging for a few reasons. First of all, the intermediate grades are an oft-forgetten place. Somewhere between the cuteness of primary students and the neediness of middle-schoolers lies the sacred ground of the intermediate grades. I hate going to conferences and things when there is little, if anything, that is focused upon the amazing grades of 3-6 (give or take, depending upon your school). Secondly, I am a constant idea-generator, so I wanted to have somewhere to capture ideas outside of my head. Lastly, I find it extremely difficult to participate in a "Professional Learning Community" between my 7 hours of teaching at school and 6 hours of prepping, family time, and chores. I hope that this will grow to be a place of discussion, idea sharing, and support for any interested teacher, but especially those of us at the "end of the hall"...since that is, after all, where we generally reside. So in this, my 7th year of teaching, I shall create a blog.
